Iranian youths get lashes each for mixed-sex party / تعدادی دختر و پسر به‌ جرم شرکت در مهمانی شلاق خوردند

مقامات قضایی ایران از دستگیری ۳۵ دختر و پسر جوان در قزوین به جرم حضور در یک مهمانی و مجازات بلافاصله آنها با ۹۹ ضربه شلاق خبر دادند.

خبرگزاری میزان، وابسته به قوه قضاییه ایران، روز پنج‌شنبه ۶ خرداد به نقل از اسماعیل صادقی نیارکی دادستان عمومی و انقلاب قزوین نوشت که بازداشت‌شدگان برای جشن فارغ‌التحصیلی در یکی از ویلاهای اطراف قزوین گردآمده و به صورت مختلط به «رقص و پایکوبی» پرداخته‌اند.

این مقام قضایی، بازداشت‌شدگان را به «هنجارشکنی» متهم کرده و گفته دادگاه با تشکیل یک جلسه فوق‌العاده به پرونده آنها رسیدگی کرده و هر یک را به ۹۹ ضربه شلاق تعزیری محکوم ساخته که حکم صادره نیز همان روز دربارهٔ آنها به اجرا درآمده است.

خبرگزاری‌های داخلی ایران در روزهای اخیر گزارش‌های متعددی از یورش نیروهای پلیس به مهمانی‌های دختران و پسران و بازداشت آنها منتشر کرده‌اند. تنها دو روز قبل از بازداشت این تعداد از جوانان در قزوین، دادستانی کرمان از دستگیری ۲۳ نفر در یک مهمانی دیگر خبر داده بود.

More than 30 students who partied at a graduation ceremony in northern Iran have received 99 lashes each for violating the Islamic republic’s morality code, a news agency reported.

“Following a report about a large number of young boys and girls mingling together in a villa around Qazvin, all those taking part in the party were arrested immediately,” Mizanonline on Thursday quoted the town’s prosecutor general as saying.

Esmail Sadeghi Niyaraki said the youths were put on trial and each sentenced to 99 lashes, a punishment which morality police carried out the same day “so as to be a lesson for those who attempt to breach the conventions.” No date was given.

“The arrest of this many young girls and boys, who were half-naked, consuming alcohol and were engaged in indecent behavior, hurt the public opinion,” the official said.

“Thank God, within less than 24 hours, interrogation, investigation, trial, issue of verdict and carrying out the verdict were completed,” said Niyaraki.

Mixed dancing is banned in Iran, especially if females do not wear the Islamic veil, and alcohol is prohibited.

Niyaraki also warned that any restaurants or catering halls which allowed such mixed events or served alcohol would be closed down.
